We would like to invite you to participate in this month's UN Forum on Forests on-line discussion forum on links between forest ownership and sustainable forest management.  The question posed is: "How do ownership structures affect sustainable forest management: what strategies can be considered to secure forest tenure?” You can access the e-forum via our website at or directly at the WebForum.

Our guest contributor this month is Ritva Toivonen, Research Manager at the Forest Economics Research Group, who has provided us with a broad overview of key issues related to forest ownership/tenure.  We would like to thank her for her input.  Please note that these guest pieces do not represent the views of the UNFF Secretariat, the UNFF, or its member States.
