Video control of wildfires in Special Nature Reservation „Deliblatska Pescara“
Deliblatska Pescara known as Deliblato Send and European Sahara situated in Serbia, authonomy province of Vojvodina. It is spread about 35.000 ha and bounded with Donau river on the south-east. Deliblatska pescara is natural habitation number species which belong savannah’s animal and floral elements and unique in Europe.
In the 17th century, patrts of Vojvodina were incorporated into Habsburg Monarchy of Austria, so Reg. Maria Theresa took a great interest in the Banat. For soil conservation against eolian erosion Reg. Maria Theresa accomplished a first afforestation as well as set up many windbreak zones around cropfields, about 180 years ago.
During past centenary wildfires within Deliblatska Pescara occured over time. Last widespread wildfire was 1996. when burned monoculure of pine on cca. 4000 ha. It resulted to introduction of video control on whole area of Deliblatska Pescara.
After many deliberations, project implemented by presentation held 21. november 2006. on locality known as „Cardak“ where control house instaled. In control house, staff supervise all parts of the Deliblatska Pescara by five cameras located on five wildfire towers. This progress will contributed to reduce demage of wildfires in future.
