The department of Natural Resources belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Hungary and the department of Nature Conservation and Forestry of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Conservation and Environment of the federal state of Thuringia - including the regional hunting associations and associations of forest owners - have concluded an agreement to continue the cooperation founded in the November of 1997 with the following goals:

– intensive partnership within the organisation of the European Union
– combined use of the possibilities of the forest action plan of the European Union
– steady exchange of experiences in the fields of forest- and wildlife management

The main aspects of the cooperation are:
– organisation of forest management as a stable factor in social and political life
– representing the interests of forest owners as a central task of forest politics
– putting the financial support of the European Union into action under considering the goals of forest owners 
– partnership in the field of environmental education
– energetic use of wood
– wildlife management and hunting on state owned properties

The agreement has been signed by András Klemencsics, deputy head of department of Natural Resources and Mr. Karl-Heinz Müller, head of department of Nature Conservation and Forestry in the presence of Mr. Volker Sklenar.
