BUDAPEST, Hungary will boost the number of its "green commandos" in an effort to prevent crimes against the environment, particularly the illegal dumping of waste, the environmental ministry said on Monday.

"The minister (Gabor Fodor) has declared a zero-tolerance policy on crimes against the environment," the ministry said in a statement.
The so-called commandos, who wear green-coloured outfits, will see their numbers increased to nearly 1,800 from 1,346, the ministry said.
