The Russian Government provided for funds to be allocated to the Russian Federation’s constituent entities for the purpose of building forest roads; the initial installments may arrive to the regions in August-September this year, as the prime-minister Victor Zubkov reported at the international conference “Development of RF Forestry”, held within the framework of the Timber Industry Development Council under the RF Government. “We planned the money to be allocated from the Investment Fund to the regions which are going to actively support timber processing; the sum provided for this purpose approaches 1 billion rubles,” said Victor Zubkov. “If the projects are timely submitted, the money may be transferred this year, which means 250-300 km of forest roads in each region,” the prime-minister explained. “Those governors who, to put it mildly, hurry up and work a bit, may get real money for these purposes – not today or tomorrow – but in August-September this year.”
