The World Water Week in Stockholm is the annual meeting place for the planet’s most urgent water-related issues. Organised by the Stockholm International Water Institute, it brings together experts, practitioners, decision makers and leaders from around the globe to exchange ideas, foster new thinking and develop solutions. Our theme for 2009 is Responding to Global Changes: Accessing Water for the Common Good.

Stockholm, Sweden, August 16, 2009 – The 2009 World Water Week in Stockholm opens here today with a weeklong agenda focused on the converging challenges that characterise the world’s growing water crisis. More than 2000 experts and leaders from all major sectors are joining United Nations executives and ministers from around the world to address a range of topics and issues centred on the theme of Responding to Global Changes: Accessing Water for the Common Good.
