Solyom, who is on a four-day official visit in New Zealand, said in his presentation that an "ecological regime change" was necessary, one similar to the political and economic changes that had taken place in Eastern Europe.
On Friday afternoon, Solyom visited the Auckland War Memorial Museum, as well as a medical training centre. In the evening, the Hungarian delegation had dinner with representatives of the local Hungarian community.
On Saturday, Solyom will visit the SCION environmental research institute and tour the Wai-O-Tapu nature reserve.
