The International Forestry Communications Conference (IFCC) will be held on 20th May 2010 in Pécs, in the wonderful Cathedral Museum.
The patron of the conference is István Stumpf, President of the Századvég Foundation, intending to participate in the conference as well.
The conferences chairperson is András Náhlik, dean of the University of West Hungary, who is president of the National Forest Council as well. It is also important because he can take first-hand information on the communication plans, which are important part of the National Forest Program and the new forest act.
The program will have been finalized by the end of March, but it is already known, that three foreign lecturers are expected: Ingwald Gschwandtl (Forestry Communication Network, leader), Anton Lesnik (Slovenia, Slovenia Forest Service) and Tamás Szedlák (EU Commission).
The Hungarian sociology science is represented by László Z. Antal (Hungarian Academy of sciences, Institute of Sociology) and Ákos Bognár (TÁRKI and Image Factory).
The University of West Hungary is represented by more people as speakers (Tamás Varga, director of Forestry Museum, dr. Magdolna Stark, dr. Dr. Katalin Molnár and dr Éva Hartl – the EVGI staff).
Among the presenters is Laszlo Gálhidy, WWF Forest program leader in Hungary, as well.
The forestry companies are represented by József Ferling, Executive Director of the Ferling PR, Gergely Lomniczi, spokesman (Pilis Parkerdő Ltd.) and István Vereb press officer (Nyírerdő Ltd.).
Sándor Oroszi and Zoltán Zétényi represent the Hungarian Forestry Association (HFA) with their presentations.
Dr Dániel Nagy, head of department in Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, is requested to give the summary presentation, closing the conference.
As regards the issues, the PR activities of the HFA and the forestry sector will be addressed also in historical retrospective, moreover the conflicts between green organizations and foresters in the light of the media.
The foreign presenters report on the EU Forestry Strategy and experiences in business.
The sociologist researchers hold presentations – among others – on the ecological phenomena and the societies perception, as well as on climate change and coherences of the green-policy.
The university lecturers give presentations on the forestry strategy, the communication and related conflicts of the silviculture, as well as on the school education and forest-related knowledge and attitudes of the families.
The representatives of the forestry companies share their practical experiences with the audience.
The conference presentations will be published.
