2011-16-09 - Celebrating the International Year of Forests, Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia released a specialized professional brochure, in an effort to draw attention to the importance of forests and  wood-processing in Slovenia. The brochure is available in electronic media online: www.stat.si/doc/pub/LES-SLO-internet.pdf. Continuous forest management is one of the cornerstones of the Slovenian forest management doctrine. As a result, Slovenia has 58% of forest area. The issues of forests and forest area are dealt with in detail across 47 pages, outlining Slovenian and European forestry, while at the same time emphasizing the role of forests in the creation of better and healthier living environment.
