05-24-2013 - Drawing competition 2013 - CONGRATULATIONS!


Jakub Roszak (8 years) from Poland is the winner of the Forest Drawing Competition 2013.
On 24 May Agriculture Commissioner Dacian Cioloş met with Jakub and his parents in Brussels to hand over a diploma and the main prize: an iPad.



Also there to congratulate Jakub were H.E. Ambassador Marek Prawda, Permanent Representative of Poland to the EU, DG Agriculture and Rural Development's Director-General Jerzy Plewa, Director Maria Angeles Benitez Salas as well as representatives from the Special Jury that selected the winner.
Over 9000 drawings from 23 countries were submitted to the competition!
The level of participation varied between the countries, with very high numbers of drawings submitted from four countries: Poland, Spain, Lithuania and Hungary. Many drawings also arrived from Portugal and Italy.
We received so many beautiful, creative drawings that fully reflected the theme of the competition, so it was really difficult for the pre-selection jury to select the finalists and for the final Special Jury, chaired by Director-General J. B. Plewa, to select a winner amongst them all.
We thank all the participating children for having given the time and effort to think about our forests!
