Paris, Feb 5 (EFE).- French actress Brigitte Bardot asked on Friday King Felipe VI, the media and the population of Spain for the urgent and immediate abolition of hunting with greyhounds, a practice that she defined as cruel and savage.
The actress said in an open letter that this practice covers the inhumane training to the punishment with a slow, excruciating death.
She added that the use of greyhounds for serving the satisfaction of sadistic and cruel individuals, who use the absence of legal punishment to vent by making innocent animals suffer, must stop.
Bardot, who has an eponymous foundation focused on animal rights, said she has received many letters denouncing this "abomination."
