Aug 14 2018 - On 4 December 2017 in Antalya the Council European Foresters established European Forestry Academic Society (EFAS).
The European Forestry Academic Society (EFAS) is part of the Council of European Foresters (CEF) and includes the following categories of personalities:
- elite forestry specialists with remarkable performances in sustainable forest management and applied forestry research;
- representatives and important personalities of forestry faculties, forestry universities and forestry research institutions;
- prestigious leaders of forestry institutions and organizations that have outstanding results in sustaining and promoting at national or international level the rights and duties of foresters foreseen in the Forester Statement from 2011 launched by the Council of European Foresters.
The European Forestry Academic Society has the own logo.
European Forestry Academic Society has the role:
- of supporting and developing the objectives and activity of CEF at the level of the UN, Council of Europe and European Union institutions;
- to promote and participate in projects initiated by organizations, countries or international institutions for forestry sector; - to organize training , information or improvement courses for foresters, forest owners, forest managers and other categories of beneficiaries;
- to organize symposiums, exchanges of experience or other professional or scientific events on forestry issues.
According Organization and Functioning Rules of the European Forestry Academic Society (EFAS) and the Resolution of CEF Board Meeting from 4 December 2017, Antalya, EFAS has a EFAS Board which includs EFAS Honour Presidents, an EFAS President and EFAS Board members. Also EFAS has members who are proposed by CEF organization members. On 4 December 2017 in Antalya CEF Board elected EFAS President and  a part of the EFAS Board members.
Please to send your proposals with the personalities for EFAS . These proposals  will be presented on 30 August 2018 in Calimanesti to  EFAS Board meeting and to CEF Board meeting .
 
The Draft Agenda for EFAS Board meeting is the following:
1.      Presentation of the proposals of the CEF organization members for the positions of EFAS Board.
2.     Presentation of the proposals of the CEF organization members for the position of EFAS member.
3.     Nomination and elections for the positions of EFAS Board and the positions of EFAS members.
4.     The according the EFAS diplomas to the nominated personalities for EFAS Board positions and EFAS members.
5.     Proposals for EFAS program activity 2018-2019.
6.     Proposal for EFAS Resolution.
 
As you know on 30 August 2018 in Calimanesti will be organized a CEF Board Meeting. For this meeting we have a proposal for the Draft  CEF Board agenda:
1.      Information about CEF activity
2.     The application of the CEF Statute for ensuring continuity of CEF activity.
3.     Proposals for CEF activity for 2018-2019.
4.     Proposal for CEF Resolution.
5.     Proposal for press release.
 
Please announce us if will you participate to the International Manifestation of the Foresters organized by Silva Federation in Calimanesti and you will attend to the CEF Board meeting and EFAS Board meeting.
Also we announce that on 30 August 2018 in Calimanesti, Hotel Cozia will be organized an International Symposium  Implementing sustainable forest management in different European countries where you can present a short work (10 minutes).
