March 9, 2020 - The annual meeting of the leaders of the Council of European Foresters was held on March 5-6, Budapest.
The organization is chaired of President by EFDSZ dr. János Halmágyi for six months, so at the invitation , Marian Stoicescu, the founder of CEF, County President of Jenő Szilágyi, came to Hungary from Romania, and a three-member delegation led by Vice-President Ahmet Kara from Turkey as a delegation of the Turkish Chamber of Forestry. The Hungarian negotiators were represented by President Halmágyi János, László Górász Secretary General, Béla Benei and László Ivádi Vice-Presidents. On Friday, Dumitru Galupa, head of CEF in Moldova, joined the talks - a video conference on Skyp.
The meeting was also honored on 5 March by Ms Shiroma Sathyapala, forestry officer for the FAO Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
On the first day of the meeting at Lions's Garden Hotel, the topic of the meeting was a mutual presentation of the FAO and CEF and exploring the possibilities of cooperation.
On March 6, the Forestry and Woodworkers' Trade Union gave a presentation on its work and then reported on the CEF's activities for about 8 months.
Subsequently, the Turkish Chamber of Forest Engineers introduced itself and a video conference was held.
