Appeal to the Eurpean Court of Justice concerning Finland's decision in respect of the Natura 2000 European network of protected areas
A number of Finnish landowners, together with the Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners (MTK) have appealed to the European Court of Justice against the EU Commission's Natura-decision in respect of Finland. The reason for the appeal is the incorrect and faulty preparation and decision making in Finland concerning Natura 2000. For some reason the Ministry of the Environment and the EU Commission have refused to provide landowners with the information that Finland has submitted to the Commission as criteria for the selection of Natura-areas.
