Torbjörn Johnsen, the project manager, says that this year’s international forest fair will have record impact.
Many changes were made in preparation for Elmia Wood 2005. One of the most important was a manifest concentration on quality. The exhibitors wanted to reduce the amount of general public interested in machinery in order to concentrate resources on potential customers. One measure was the reduction of the number of free cards, which automatically resulted in fewer, but better motivated visitors.
The impact on the number of visitors was negligible. During the four days that the fair lasted 50 050 single visits were recorded, as compared to somewhat over 54 000 at Elmia Wood 2001. In addition, there were 7 800 re-visits. Friday was the most popular day with 19 300 visitors. This is a one day record in Elmia Wood’s history that spans over 30 years.
The number of foreign visitors increased, most of all from Brazil, Spain and the Czech Republic. More than 200 reporters from all over the world attended the fair. That means that Elmia Wood 2005 will have more long term impact and will be a topical subject for more people than ever before. Elmia Wood is a well tested and reliable concept, which this time still improved somewhat from previous occasions. Travelling distances were two kilometres shorter due to the use of shuttle buses between large and small scale exhibition areas.
Welcome to Elmia Wood 2005, an international forestry trade fair, growing from one event to the other.
It is the meeting point for forest owners, contractors, machine suppliers, managers and staff from forest companies and associations. During a couple of hectic days they come to exchange experiences, prepare deals, do business and make interesting contacts.
For Elmia Wood 2005 we can promise strong contributions from the exhibitors' side and also an exciting program making it possible for you to follow the latest forestry technique developmenttime of the four days well - the fair has a lot to offer .
