Central to the proposed strategy is stronger and more binding targets.
The MPs' ambitious long-term aim is for Europe to source all its
electricity from renewable sources by 2070.
Interim targets include 33% renewable electricity by 2020, by which
time renewables should provide 25% of all energy. In the immediate
future, the MPs want the EU to clearly assign at least €300m to
renewables and €200m to energy efficiency under its next research
