Swedish households and businesses become better and better at recycling paper. Last year constituted an all time record when the quantity collected amounted to 1,123.000 tons.More than three quarters of all paper products were recycled and used for producing new paper.
Ms Marianne Svensén, director at the Swedish Forest Industries Federation says that these figures prove that sorting by individual households and paper collection systems function well and that the system is conscientiously applied by the public.
83 per cent of all printed newspapers and 72 per cent of all paper packings are recycled. Recycling of office paper has the lowest figure; only 66 per cent.
