Construction which began on Thursday, is expected to be completed jointly by students of Bergische University and Isfahan Technical University on August 17.
Financed by the German Foreign Ministry, the project is headed by Iranian engineer Alireza Eghadam who graduated on top of his engineering class at Bergische University.
The timber framing of the model home which can withstand strong earthquakes, was showcased last spring at the Hanover Fair.
Another rebuilt model will also be constructed in Isfahan at a later day.
There are also plans to send 40 Iranian engineering students to Wuppertal every year who will complete their last (fourth) year of studies with project seminars and integrated German language courses.
Meanwhile, some 70 students from Isfahan are presently studying at the Bergische University whose cooperation with Isfahan Technical University goes back to 2002.
The Isfahan-Wuppertal engineering cooperation is part of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) program titled 'German-Iranian University Dialogue'.
