Call for organization of national or local in-country events

Dear Heads of Delegation of the UNECE Timber Committee and the FAO European Forestry Commission,

As you know, national contributions are an essential part of the European Forest Week. We circulated a call for national contributions earlier and we are already receiving information on about many contributions. The website is now ready and organizations wanting to organize an event can register their contributions directly online: www.europeanforestweek.org. They do not need to be official submitted by you.

 Please circulate this information to interested organizations in your country and do what you can to stimulate contributions from your country.
 
National or local in-country events should make this week an important outreach event throughout the region. Events can include conferences or policy forums, public events such as forest fairs, nature walks or exhibits, symbolic events such as tree planting or media events aimed at improved communication.
