Christmas started early this year, as CEPF presented Mariann Fischer-Boel, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, with a Christmas tree. It has become a tradition, that the European private forest owners deliver a tree to start the holiday season in Brussels. This event highlights the solid cooperation between the family forest owners and the European institution, and concludes the year on a festive note.
The Commissioner greeted the approximately 200 members of staff. Let us hope that her kind recognition of the good cooperation with CEPF in 2008 will begin also 2009 with an uplifting and promising perspective for forest owners.
