Budapest, October 17, 2019 - One of the prerequisites for the success of the national afforestation and afforestation programs is the availability of adequate quality and quantity of plantable saplings in the country. Péter Zambó, State Secretary for Agriculture at the Ministry of Agriculture (AM), said at a delegation meeting of the Forestry and Energy Propagating Material Product Council on Thursday.
The Communication emphasized that AM is committed to maintaining forests and increasing their area, and that particular attention should be paid in this work to the development of the reproductive material sector.
The importance of forest reproductive material production is highlighted by the fact that in the last ten years alone, state-owned forestry has planted about 450 million saplings, almost entirely produced by domestic producers.
The Ministry of Agriculture has concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the Product Council, and the Secretary of State has forwarded the related document to the chairman of the Product Council, Béla Kárpáti, at the meeting of the delegates.
