A COST Strategic Workshop on "Forest ecosystems in a changing
environment:  identifying future monitoring and research needs" will be held from
11 – 13  March 2008 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The strategic workshop aims at identifying monitoring related research
needs  in the field of climate change and air pollution effects on forest
ecosystems. Plenary and parallel sessions will deal with climate change
effects on forests, on the development of ozone monitoring and critical
loads for eutrophication and acidification. Effects on biodiversity
will  be  tackled as well.
The participation is open to any interested expert. The registration
fee  is 100 Euro. Interested speakers are invited to submit abstracts for
related  presentations. Travel costs of the selected speakers will be reimbursed by  the COST secretariat.
