Welcome to the March 2008 illegal logging email from Chatham House. We send these emails regularly to keep you informed of updates to the illegal logging website and our current work.
 
 
Procurement workshop, 7-8 April, Copenhagen

Chatham House and the Danish Ministry of Environment are co-hosting a workshop on public procurement policies in Copenhagen on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th April. Topics covered will include latest developments in procurement policies, current EU policy development, the inclusion of social criteria in definitions of ‘sustainability’, and the relationship between demands for ‘legal’ and ‘sustainable’ timber. Chatham House Illegal Logging Update and Stakeholder Consultation Meeting, 9-10 June, London
The dates of the twelfth Chatham House Illegal Logging Update and Stakeholder Consultation meeting are confirmed as Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th June. The agenda is being put together over the next month; if you have any specific proposals for presentations (for example, if your organisation is issuing a new report or launching a new initiative), please email Alison Hoare, who is taking over Jade Saunders’ role in managing the agenda.
 
As ever, the meetings are open to all but pre-registration is essential. Please contact Rena Karypidou in our Programme office to register. A draft agenda will be available in April.
