the European Forest Week, held from 20 to 24 October 2008, will provide an umbrella for forest related events organized by different public and private organizations throughout Europe. In order to make these activites visible and accessible for all interested, a web site was established where it is now possible to publicize European Forest Week in-Country events by uploading relevant information directly onto the site. Maria Casa from FAO asked me to provide you with the following useful information in this regard.
How to create an account
Please follow the instruction at the following URL to create an account: http://www.europeanforestweek.org/create-account/en/. . The account will allow you to post information directly onto the European Forest Week site.
To edit an entry you have already posted, go to the browse events page (see below) and click the word "edit" to the right of your entry. A password prompt will appear, which will allow you access to your original entry. You may only edit entries that you yourself uploaded.
How to browse events
To browse events posted by others, please see http://www.europeanforestweek.org/50790/en/
Helpful information for in-Country activity organizers
As they become available, communication tools helpful for use in organizing in-Country activities will be posted on the European Forest Week site. Please check the site regularly. Available now are:
the EFW logos in eps (print) and gif (web) format in different languages at http://www.europeanforestweek.org/48473/en/
If your language is missing, please send the text for "European Forest Week" and "20-24 October 2008" in your language to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will prepare the logo for you.
Also, please write to us for any special logo needs. Our graphic artist can render the logo in other formats upon request or adapt the design for special uses. We prefer that logo production initiates from our office in order to ensure coherency in the look and style of European Forest Week products across participating countries.
a style sheet is also available at http://www.fao.org/forestry/foris/data/efw/efw-logo-style.doc for use in coordinating colors and fonts.
With best regards
