The Forestry and Game Management Research Institute is organizing in Prague an international scientific conference entitled:

„Applied Forestry Research in the 21st Century”.

The Conference will be held: 13-15, September 2011

Congress centre has advantageous position on the highway D1 Prague – Brno with a perfect connection to the centre of Prague (approx. 35 – 45 minutes by public transport, 10 – 15 minutes by car).

Four excursion trips are proposed

Demonstration of trial plots with plants from biotechnology and breeding experiments – Game preserve Březka and Třebotov.
Artificial Norway spruce stands in lower altitudes – forest health, forest nutrition, yellowing of Norway spruce stands.
Forestry management on the extreme sites – Scrub category in Private Forests Kristina Colloredo-Mansfeld (Forest district Dobříš). Forestry management at the former agricultural land - Forests of the Czech Republic, state enterprise (Forest district Kácov).
Protection of spruce forests after windbreak in the vicinity of the National Park Šumava.


Call for Abstracts is prolonged till 30.6. 2011

Please submit your abstract before 30.6.2011.
Abstract must be submitted in English as a MS Word document.
Indicate the title of your contribution, the author name(s), organization affiliation and email address of the corresponding author.
The main text of the abstract must describe the topic of the contribution, methods, main results and conclusion.
No photograph or graphic should be included.
The abstract length is limited by one page. For the whole text including the title and author(s) use Times New Roman, 11 pts, single space.

Publication
Abstract will be reviewed by the scientific committee. Selected authors will be invited to submit their contribution in the thematic issue of the “Journal of Forest Science” http://agriculturejournals.cz/web/JFS.htm. All abstracts will be published in the Conference proceedings.
