Dear Forestry experts,

I am writing to you in order to inform and invite forestry experts from
the forest-L mailing list to participate in an specific research we are
carrying out at the Department of Forest Science and Environment -
DISAFRI, from the Tuscia University, (Viterbo - Italy), in which
world-wide experts will be involved.

We are working in the topic of: "Synergies among the Rio Conventions "
(Convention on Biological Diversity - CBD, United Nations Framework
Convention on Climate Change - UNFCCC and United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification - UNCCD). Our main objective is to establish a set of project evaluation criteria based on world-wide expertise. We have concentrated our work on criteria for evaluating forestry projects, particularly keeping in mind, the principle of the three Rio Conventions (CBD, UNFCCC and UNCCD). For this purpose we kindly invite you to fill a short questionnary, which have the following objectives:
a) validate the criteria we are proposing in the questionnary
b) know the weight experts attribute when evaluating forestry projects
considering principles from the three Rio Conventions.

We will like to contribute with the process of synergies among the Rio
Conventions, therefore, the questionnary will help us to get data for
developing a decision making support tool.

As soon as the research will be finished,  results will be sent to all
scientist and policy makers who have participated. All information
provided would be treated confidentially and anonymously.
